FAQs
What happens in a Reiki session?
A Reiki session is a deeply relaxing and restorative experience. As you settle comfortably on the table, I will begin by setting an intention for your healing process. The room will be peaceful and calming, with soft lighting, soothing music, and a tranquil atmosphere to help you unwind.
During the session, I will gently place my hands on or near various areas of your body, allowing Reiki energy to flow where it’s needed most. You may feel warmth, tingling, or a sense of deep relaxation as energy is channeled to areas that need healing. The process is non-invasive, and you are free to relax and even fall asleep if you wish.
Many people experience a sense of calm, clarity, and deep peace during and after the session, while others may notice emotional releases or physical sensations as blockages are cleared. Every session is unique, and each person’s experience may vary.
The goal of Reiki is to support the body’s natural ability to heal itself, aligning your energy and promoting balance in your mind, body, and spirit. After the session, I will give you time to reflect and share any experiences, and I may offer recommendations for continued self-care.
Is Reiki safe?
Yes, Reiki is a completely safe practice. It’s gentle, non-invasive, and works in harmony with your body’s natural healing abilities. There are no known side effects, and it can be beneficial for people of all ages and health conditions.
How will I feel during a session?
Many clients report feeling deeply relaxed, calm, and peaceful during a session. Some people may experience sensations like warmth, tingling, or a subtle feeling of energy movement. Everyone’s experience is unique, and some may even fall asleep or feel light-headed as they release tension.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you need depends on your individual goals and healing process. Some clients may feel a shift after one session, while others may benefit from a series of sessions. I’ll work with you to create a plan tailored to your needs and offer guidance along the way.
Can Reiki help with specific physical or emotional issues?
Reiki can be helpful for a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual concerns, including stress, anxiety, chronic pain, emotional trauma, and more. It works by promoting balance and clearing blockages, allowing your body’s natural healing abilities to be more effective. However, Reiki is not a replacement for medical treatment but can complement other therapies.
What should I do before a Reiki session?
There’s no special preparation required, but coming with an open mind and a relaxed state of mind will help you get the most out of your session. Drink plenty of water before and after your session to help your energy flow smoothly.
What should I do after a Reiki session?
After your session, it’s a good idea to rest and hydrate. You may feel a bit tired or light-headed, which is normal as your body adjusts to the energy shift. Some people also experience emotional release or feel more centered. Take your time to reflect on the experience and avoid any heavy physical activity immediately afterward.
Can Reiki help with trauma or emotional healing?
Yes, Reiki can be especially beneficial for emotional healing. As a trauma-informed practitioner, I create a safe, compassionate space to help release old emotional blockages, reduce anxiety, and bring balance to your energy. Reiki works gently to support healing without the need to revisit painful memories.
Do I need to talk during the session?
Not at all. The session is a quiet, meditative experience where you can relax and focus on your own healing. If you feel called to share anything with me before, during, or after the session, you’re welcome to do so, but it’s entirely up to you. Your experience is personal, and there’s no pressure to talk unless you wish.
